Your investment helps to end poverty, reduce inequalities and protect our planet through our clear investment strategy. We prioritize MFIs providing access to finance for women and those operating in rural areas. When investing in SMEs, priority is given to businesses that create jobs for women and youth. We also apply a climate lens to strengthen organisations contributing to the fight against climate change and environmental degradation.

In 25 years of investing, we have developed a solid investment process that balances investment risk and (social) return. Our Risk Unit is involved throughout the entire due diligence process. We use risk mitigation tools such as guarantees and hedging, and we continuously monitor our investees to flag early warning signals.

Our investment approach is built to contribute to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Social performance management is integrated into all aspects of our investment process, from pipeline development to monitoring. Our responsible investment approach is aligned with standards such as the Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) and the Impact Reporting & Investment Standards (IRIS).
